Founded in 2018 by Townsend Tarapani and David Banther, Tarapani Banther & Associates LLC brings together a carefully selected team of associates with decades of combined experience in Florida real estate. Having both served in local elected office, Townsend and David bring valuable insight into local government, land use, and community development, helping clients make informed real estate investment decisions.

Townsend Tarapani, Broker

Townsend is an eighth-generation Florida native with a passion for conservation, preservation, and the general welfare of Florida’s natural resources. Born and raised in Tarpon Springs, Townsend learned the importance of community service at an early age and set goals to make his hometown a better place. He graduated from Jesuit High School in Tampa and earned a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business and Economics from Auburn University.

While attending Auburn University, Townsend became a licensed Florida Realtor. His real estate and investment career was shaped at the onset of the 2008 economic collapse. With the betterment of his community in mind, Townsend was elected to the Tarpon Springs City Commission at age 25 and went on to serve seven years as a Commissioner, including two years as Vice-Mayor. As an elected official, he brought a unique perspective to redevelopment and frequently championed public-private partnerships. Townsend has spent his career becoming an industry expert in real estate, planning and development, and property management.

Townsend enjoys spending time with his wife and their four children and is a lifelong outdoor enthusiast with a strong desire to pass that appreciation to the next generation. His family spends time in the Florida Panhandle, where they farm timber and support wildlife and land-management practices. In addition to his elected service, Townsend has served by appointment on the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art Board of Directors, the Forward Pinellas Board of Directors, the Florida Pioneer Museum Board of Directors, and the Fish & Wildlife Foundation of Florida.

David Banther, Broker

A Pinellas County native raised in Tarpon Springs, David brings a background in economics, management, business operations, and public service to his work with clients and the community. That practical business perspective has been shaped in part by his family’s management consulting firm, Banther Consulting, which has operated for more than 30 years.

David graduated from Lakeside Christian School in Clearwater in 2001. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Hillsdale College and a Master of Science in Management from Colorado Technical University. He is also an Eagle Scout from Troop 48 in Tarpon Springs.

His commitment to the community includes extensive service on the Tarpon Springs City Commission. He previously served as Commissioner and Vice-Mayor from 2013 to 2019. He returned to the Commission by appointment on October 1, 2024, was elected unopposed in March 2025 to complete the remaining term for Seat 1, and was re-elected unopposed in March 2026 to a three-year term.

David has also served numerous boards and organizations, including the Historical Preservation Board, Budget Advisory Committee, Charter Review Committee, Employee Pension Board, Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority, Tarpon Springs Yacht Club, Rotary Club of Tarpon Springs, Tarpon Springs Boys & Girls Club, AdventHealth North Pinellas Hospital Foundation, and Leadership Pinellas Class of 2015.

David is married with two daughters and is a parishioner at St. Ignatius of Antioch Roman Catholic Church. In addition to managing his family farm in North Florida, David is an active athlete who holds four USPA Florida state records in powerlifting and trains in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, where he holds a blue belt.
